Chandrayan-3 - India Made History by touching the Moon

Congratulations ISRO

23rd August 2023 has became a historical date for India. India has finally touched the Moon. Chandrayan-3 has landed successfully on Moon's South Pole.

India is the world's first country to land moon mission on it's south pole. India became 4th country to land on moon after USA, China and Russia.

Chandrayaan-3 mission was launched on July 14 on board launch vehicle MARK-III (LVM-3) rocket. Chandrayaan-3 is developed by Indian space Research Organization (ISRO).

The Chandrayaan-3 is aimed at the lunar south pole, a region with water ice, or frozen water, that could be a source of oxygen, fuel and water for future moon missions or a more permanent moon colony.

After landing Chandrayaan-3 is expected to remain functional for two weeks, running a series of experiments including a spectrometer analysis of the mineral composition of the lunar surface.

ISRO Chairman K Sivan stated that the total cost of Chandrayaan-3 was 615 crores. This includes 250 crores for propulsion and an additional 365 crores for launch expenses.

Congratulations ISRO and all the scientists who worked tirelessly to make this project successful.
